The decorative element on the front of the bracelet, called Clous Médor with a subsequent ring, is modeled after the bulging heads of four nails. The design of the Collier de Chien dates back to a special request from a customer of Hermès. In 1927, the customer requested the elaboration of a dog collar to be used as a jewellery accessory.
